Avant-garde concept in a memorable Condesa building

Sports & Lifestyle

Restored and preserved by the National Institute of Fine Arts within the I421 Live District mixed-use complex, we find the first Mondrian hotel in Latin America.

Previously known as “Conjunto Aristos”, it was built by architect José Luis Benlliure between 1959 and 1961, who combined his architectural knowledge with his experience as sculptor and painter to conceive the complex.

The firm AoMa, owned by architect Jihei Aoki, designed the interior and exterior of Mondrian Mexico City Condesa which respected Benlliure’s original design, maintaining the Art Déco style of the building and preserving the attributes and differentiations of the original work, such as the splendid tile geometry and the iconic design on the floor inspired by the beach of Ipanema in Brazil.

This sophisticated firm has been recognized worldwide for its luxury and avant-garde lifestyle. Mondrian Mexico City Condesa has 183 rooms including 16 luxury suites and 2 penthouses.
